(The story of White Light Theatre.)
Back in 1996, I came to spend a few months with my Mother. I really wanted to do some theatre, and I was in-luck. Because The Gibraltar Drama festival was coming up. So, I looked around and found out ‘Cabaret Alternative’ was looking for a director. I met Jackie Villa and RoseAnn Victory, and was hired to direct ‘The Gnadiges Fraulein’. After that I went back to the states and we lost touch. When I came back in 2007 to live here. I was asked to be in a production going up in that year’s ‘Festival’. It was a comedy, and I wanted to do some acting. So, I took the role. I was to play a very over the top, aging actor. Easily within my grasp. LOL! During rehs it became apparent to many of us in the cast that the director didn’t have a clue. So, myself and the actresses I was playing opposite worked our scene out between us. We bonded and talked. Then one night we realised that we knew each other from ‘Gnadiges’. In our defense, it had been eleven years ago. LOL! This was the lovely RoseAnn Victory, and she re-introduced Jackie Villa into my life and from that came what we have today. The White Light theatre.
