Dark Art
‘The reward of art is not fame or success but intoxication.’
Jean Cocteau.
Dark style.
The ‘Art’ you see here was created using some very old software on my computer. I have an updated version but the older one is like a familiar paint brush. More comfortable. More personal. I began much later in my life to ‘Paint in the machine’. Even though, since my twenties, I have designed posters for my shows. I had not gone beyond that. I just made flyers to get some bums on seats. Then a moment came when I found myself unable to write. My personal life had exploded in front of me. No empathy please! It was a romantic hand grenade of my own creation. LOL. I was, at the time, writing a script for an up-and-coming show. And now, my mind was fried. The words were frozen on my screen, no matter how much I tried. I could not write. But, my fingers became interested in noodling around in a paint program with some photos of myself I had taken. I guess the emotion was looking for an alternate manner to express itself and decant from my heart. The first results were in a collection called Orpheus. I have since then continued to paint and herein are some of the pieces I have done.
The American Dream.
Blood of the poet.
Walkabout.
Orpheus.
The Odyssey
Jason.
Dr. Strange.
