Words from the Attic…

(Programme notes)

Welcome Attic Fans to this our sixteenth season which we open with our own fangs bared, searingly romantic production of the bloodthirsty Count’s adventures. We take on the issues of blood drinking, zombie making and neck biting in this dark and delicious rendering of the immortal Dracula. Presented and performed using the wonders of ‘Imagino Two’, an extraordinary process which uses all five senses of the audience simultaneously (patent pending final safety tests). It’s another highly original, energetic and entertaining show from the Attic, full of unearthly production values, fab music and tricks so cheap you’ll wonder why we did them? As always, a special thanks to that famous 1st gentleman of Nyack, Mr. Mark Tucker.

This was the second time we staged Dracula and for it I wrote a brand new script. A more conventional take with less laughs and a more serious tone. Rather than the Anne Rice influenced, pun fueled, way down South in the New Orleans version. We had done it at the Elmwood playhouse some fourteen years before. Still fun to perform with many of the same actors I had worked with through the sixteen years we had been in existence.
